Functional Classification of City Streets

The Functional Classification of Streets are those streets which are eligible for Federal or State Financial Aid and are recognized by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Classified Streets are listed as Principal, Minor or Collector Arterial streets.

In 1999, the City of Yakima included the following street inventory.

Principal Arterials 34.8 miles
