A comparative study was conducted in September 2000 to quantify
the relationship of air quality and traffic flow in the downtown
area of Yakima Washington. Vehicle emissions of Carbon Monoxide
(CO) were modeled for exising conditions and under optimized
traffic signal progression. This study provided the foundation
for the Yakima CO Non-Attanment Area Limited Maintenance Plan
for complaince with the Federal Clean Air Act.
