Q: If I am a vendor of the City, how can I expedite the receipt of my payment?

A: Our Accounts Payable system is designed to pay from purchase orders. The most important thing you can do to expedite payment is to reference a valid purchase order number. The format of a Purchase Order number is a year followed by a five digit number (i.e. 99-40677) If a purchase order number can not be provided, please ask for the division to be billed (i.e. Parks, Streets, Police, Fire, etc.) If we don’t have a valid Purchase Order or a division reference, it will take much longer to research and process payment. The next most important thing you can do is to send the invoice to Accounts Payable, 129 North Second Street, Yakima, WA 98901. We cannot process what we do not receive.
