BIOGRAPHY
Micah D. Cawley was born and raised in Yakima, Washington.
He attended Whitney Elementary, Wilson Middle School, and
graduated high school from Yakima’s Christa McAuliffe
Academy. Micah is married with no children.
Micah and his wife Laurel care about the people of Yakima and want to make sure
they are heard when it comes to making decisions that affect the community. Micah
believes that government should be open and accountable to the taxpayer, and
is working to increase funding for basic city services. Micah is determined to
make sure that local government is service oriented, friendly, and responsive
to all citizens.
Some key issues for Micah involve public safety, streets and transportation,
and our youth. Micah is committed to making sure that we are proactive in fighting
crime and keeping Yakima a clean, beautiful, and safe place to live. Micah thinks
it’s important to give residents updates on projects and future plans of
the city. Yakima should be a destination point for summer fun and Micah is diligently
pursuing resources for programs that improve the quality of life in Yakima.
Micah is looking forward to 2010 and completing the Budget Committee recommendations
to the full Council. 2010 is shaping up to be a tough year in the City of Yakima
and Micah will work hard to keep our local government open and accountable.
