Pursuant to Chapter 19.27 RCW, the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, Volumes One, Two and Three, together with all appendices thereto except Appendices Chapter Three, Division III and IV, Chapters Nine, Ten, Eleven, Thirteen, Twenty-one, Twenty-three, and Thirty-one, and the Uniform Building Code Standards, all as published by the International Conference of Building Officials, and as adopted and maintained by the state building code council in Chapter 51-40 WAC (hereinafter “state building code”), and as further modified by the amendments, additions, deletions, and exceptions provided in this chapter, shall be the building code of the city of Yakima. The texts that comprise the state building code including the Uniform Building Code and Appendices, Uniform Building Code Standards, and Chapter 51-40 WAC, are incorporated in this chapter by reference and the several sections or numbers of those texts shall constitute, and may be referred to as, the numbers of those texts shall constitute, and may be referred to as, the numbers of this chapter. One or more copies of the texts that comprise the building code of the city of Yakima shall be maintained on file in the office of the code administration manager of the city of Yakima.
