Chapter 9.50 PARKING AND RULES OF THE ROAD
9.50.210 Special parking permit--Fees--Regulations.
A. Effective January 1, 1977, a special parking permit may be
obtained by filing a written application therefor with the customer services
manager of the city of Yakima, which application shall state the name and
address of the applicant, a statement as to the business in which applicant is
engaged, and a description of applicant's trucks or automobiles used in the
conduct and operation of applicant's business. Special parking permits are to be
issued and used only for vehicles used in building maintenance, building
construction, or equipment service or installation.
B. It is the duty of the customer services manager to
investigate the facts stated in the application and determine the necessity for
the use of the special parking permit in conducting or operating the business of
the applicant.
C. Upon the approval of the application by the customer
services manager, the approved application shall be presented by the applicant
to the director of finance and budget, and applicant shall pay the director one
month's permit fee in the sum of ten dollars.
D. The fee for a special parking permit is established at ten
dollars per month for a period of thirty days from date of issuance of the
permit, or one hundred dollars per year, with all fees being payable in
advance.
E. It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to use
a special parking permit in violation of the rules and regulations set out in
the approved application.
F. It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to use
a special parking permit in any fifteen-minute or thirty-minute parking meter
zone.
G. It is unlawful to use a special parking permit unless the
parking space is occupied by a motor vehicle described in the application for
