(1) Except when necessary to avoid conflicts with other traffic, or in compliance with law or the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, or when permitted under Chapter 8.66 of the Yakima Municipal Code, no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle:

(a) on any sidewalk or between any sidewalk and the curb or edge of the paved roadway, or

(b) within the area extending ten feet from the curb line or edge of roadway where no sidewalk is present.

(2) This prohibition shall apply to the area east of the Burlington Northern Railroad tracks. (Ord. 97-25 § 1, 1997).
